There are so many things I could tell you
I know it's what you want to hear
When you say "I'm here for you"
"My dear, for you"
When you pry and you pick
Into my life
You hope to be protection
From their lies and objections
But the harder you try
The more I realize
You don't know me
You wish I would open up
Your little flower, in her bower
Whispering...Prince, come take me
Come make me your Queen
Now you see with surprise
I'm not weak enough to fall
You're so confused and scared
I've caught you more than unprepared
And the harder you try
The more I see in your eyes
You don't know me
I know you mean well
I try to indulge
Try to make you feel better by lying how I hurt
So you give me fake advice
Built on my bed of lies
And you walk away thinking you saved another soul!
If I tell you what you want to hear
I know for now you'll disappear
'Cause you don't know me
I'm glad you don't know me

Wonderfully done. The point was brought through excellently.
Someone you know (subject of this) is like 40-50 years behind the times. Amazes me that women still need to go around with a sign "Empty Knights In Shining Armor Need Not Apply." Or bother.
Actually men need to do the doing, women make themselves quite clear enough, men don't pay attention or take them seriously
If men had the answers they wouldn't be killing themselves and others, there would be no Iraqs and Afghanistans and all the other horrors.
Many years ago a young lady friend of mine told me that she felt men and women were two different species, not variations on homo sapiens. I sometimes (like now after reading this) think she was right.
I have never given up on surmounting whatever that difference is, men and women can be real with each other; it's just that the time between such occurances can make for despair and bitterness.
I've written about the subject; the way you laid your lines out is totally awesome, if it were speech transcribed it would be bloody well to the point, as poetry it has a start-and-pause rhythm which I can feel here.
