Back in 7th and 8th grade, I wrote a novella about a siren who was swept away from her sisters in the Mediterranean, found on the North Carolina coast, and adopted by a doctor and his wife. I gave it to my friends (and dedicated it to my mother, for Christmas one year), and they sent it back telling me it was a load of tripe and that I should scrap the idea for good. I deleted it from my hard drive, and threw away any copies I had.
And here I am now, at my computer, typing it up again.
I've changed the story slightly, so it should be better this time. I'm going to post it here chapter by chapter, sort of as an installment thing. I want to get it out here so people can read it and comment on it, and maybe one day I'll publish it and be the next big thing. I look forward to posting Chapter One within next month, or as soon as I can put it out.
